This is our first tournament of the semester. The only team we bring to play is Eauzone, however Breauzone is invited to come and support the fellas, as it’s a great opportunity to see some high-quality gameplay and perhaps see Eauzone pop off big-time. Being the first tournament of the semester, there is a lot to look forward to for Ugly Dome. Since we’re usually stuck inside, Ugly Dome is super nice because we get to play on a big field under a dome, which is pretty great because our deep shots are quite limited in the winter. Overall, Ugly Dome is a very high-quality tournament. It is a good opportunity for people to get some reps in and get back in the feel of frisbee so we can get hyped for the rest of the season.
2nd tournament of the semester, very good time. Depending on team sizes and commitment we hope send both teams. Currently just Eauzone is going, but we’re working on getting a bid for the Breaus. Definitely one of the highlights of the semester. Driving the 8 hours down there kinda sucks, but it’s really fun to hang out with 3-4 other guys and have a little road trip. The tournament itself is SO cool. We get to play a lot of different teams that we don’t typically get the opportunity to. Last year we upset the University of Cincinnati. Super good tournament. I’m never not enjoying myself there. Those who don’t go to Missouri highly regret it and are sad the whole weekend.
Best tournament of the year. It’s basically MWT but on steroids. We drive a solid 18 or so hours down to Statesboro. Pretty tough drive but again, super fun to get to spend that time with the homies in the car just getting to know each other and stuff. Stopping for meals is always fun. The tournament itself is AMAZING. First off, the weather is beautiful (usually). Secondly, we match up pretty well against all the other teams we play there, getting a chance to make a name for ourselves down south. Finally, it’s just cool to be in Georgia, it’s a different part of the US that we don’t get the opportunity to see too often. What makes the tournament even better is that we reward ourselves by “celebrating” spring break during the week following the tournament. Those who don’t go to Georgia also regret not going, big bummer for them.
This little round robin is a first for the team this year. We did one in the fall, it went really well. Gave both teams an extra chance to get 4-5 games in one morning and afternoon. This spring, only Breauzone will be participating. This is an amazing chance for the Breaus to get some reps in against teams that are the same skill level. Although it’s the Saturday of Easter, guys should try their best to make it, as it incentivizes them to get out and get some reps in that they may not have the opportunity to get in a normal season. Should be a good tournament/round robin!! Lots of potential for future seasons as well.
Sections is one of the more stressful tournaments of the year, doing well at this tournament is KEY. If we do not play well here, our season is over; no fun. This tournament is important for both teams. Breauzone gets a chance to ball out and try breaking seed, chances are low that they can make it to regions, but who knows?! For Eauzone, this is our chance to win our section and ball tf out. Doing well at sections allows us a little buffer at the regional tournament two weeks later. It’s important that we go into sections with a positive mindset and healthy bodies. If not, we set ourselves up to not go to regions, or to cut it way too close. Overall, very very fun tournament. Given the stress for making it to regions, it’s easy to get frustrated and intimidated. Try to stay chill :)
Regions is the best. This is our best opportunity to show the region that Eauzone is not to be messed with. Each year we’ve gone we’ve done better and better, this year shouldn’t be any different. Playing well at sections will give us the momentum to play our best game at Regions. Here we play the best teams we’ll play during the season. Teams like Grey Duck, Hodags, CUT do not expect us to put up a healthy amount of points on them, that said, based on how we’ve been playing this season, we have a chance to show up and scare the socks off those fools. People underestimate Eauzone, regions is where we show them to not mess with the Eau. And who knows, maybe we’ll go to college nationals???
The alums show up thinking they're gonna kick our butts. We show them wrong.
